Following a 33 year career in the Fire and Rescue Service, Darren is a highly experienced tactical incident commander, command assessor, and hazmat instructor.

Throughout this time Darren worked in a variety of departments, but a vast amount of it was spent in either a training role, or as the Services’ Training Centre Manager, where he used his skills and experiences to mentor and develop the training team who were responsible for the maintenance of competence of over a thousand firefighters.

Darren has a natural passion for training, development, and mentoring of others whether that be in a training environment, or whilst attending operational incidents.

His ability to share his wealth of knowledge and experiences effectively, developing others whilst functioning in such high-stakes situations has made Darren a highly skilled incident command and hazmat trainer and mentor.
